A LOVE SO GREAT!

I may never get to know all about God, but every time something new occurs to me about Him, I’m close to being dumbfounded, and all I can do is avert my mind back to a statement a young man who had just completed his final year project made – ” God, you are too God. ” An attempt to explain the way he works can only leave you realizing that it takes being God to act the way he does.

We see this truth in the story of salvation which is so beautiful. That many times the reason why the gospel is refutable or not believed is that it occurs to people’s thoughts about how anyone could love them as much as God does. It’s too good it’s almost unreal.

I wonder what it must have felt to be God and see all the creation you had made good turning against you and choosing outrightly that they wanted to be everything but what you had made them and yet you couldn’t help but stay interested in their lives.

If God had been narcissistic when he saw everything going out of hand, it would have been a good idea to end everything and end himself too. Thankfully, God isn’t, he is the kinda God that doesn’t mind being dragged into a mess that he didn’t start, if the interference had chances of making all things right again.

Today, we will take a moment to see the intent and great love of God towards Man, the crown of his creation.

The old testament is quite an eventful book and in it, we see the beginning of God’s unending commitment to risk it all in matters pertaining to men (literally). God makes man like him, to live for him and love him, but right in the middle of it, the same God decides that man should be made free to make a choice. There were two likely possibilities, the man was either going to go his own way or God’s way and though God did not influence the outcome, he hoped for the best and was prepared for the worse.

We know what happened in the garden of Eden. The first man and woman go against God’s instruction as regards the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They eat the forbidden fruit and at that moment, they were cut off from the benefits that accompany living in obedience to God.

The man made in God’s image, moved from being a baller and having it all made, to being a mechanic. He had to work the grounds, struggle, and bear children in pain, and like the parents’ mistakes were not enough from his son Cain’s action we see the cycle of sin repeat itself.

The way things work with men when a person is severed from his family, it’s in every way. Words, actions, and even thoughts where possible. However, we know God is up to something when with all that man had done, he just would not stop showing up. How could Cain have been a cursed man and yet he was still thinking God had to be a little fair with him? How could God still be so interested in men when they had walked out on all of God’s plans for them? God is amazing.

From generation to generation, just when we almost begin to think that God is over and done with man, little do we know that it was just the beginning and in the end, God’s last word would be love!

Many years pass and various men walk the earth. Some barely get by with living, some recognized a creator and strive to know him, and some come a little closer and see with their faith growing wide enough to grasp as much as they can. Some find him but His dominion is the gap between them, so they slave around wondering if anything they do could please the creator. Then there were the ones, who did not give two hoots about whether he was or not as long as they had the right to exercise their will.

Just at the right time, God decides not only to stand from a far-off extending mercy drops to us but comes in full showers in the person of his son Jesus.

The mere fact that God in all his permit me to say “God-ness” makes this move astonishes me. The presence of God on earth not as God but as man is the ultimate move that changed everything. Now, people did not only see it appear like God had placed impossible expectations on them, but they see the impossible made possible through the life of Jesus. How he lived, loved, spoke, and placed faith in God concerning everything. He was so perfect it was impossible to hold him liable for any wrong. All along what seemed like a heavy yoke was made easy through the life of Christ. Man can live a holy and righteous life pleasing unto God.

If Jesus had only come to live and not die on our behalf, we would have easily termed it God’s show-off, but God came rather than to show off but to save us. In the biggest display of love, we are not only taught how to love but all our previous love debts are canceled up and placed on the righteous one.

Let’s imagine that God had a conflict with men for so long all because of sin. Though people could offer sacrifices all year round, nothing changes. So, God salvages the situation and steps in to forgive us, reminding us that the purpose for forgiveness isn’t ” I was right and you were wrong “, but for the restoration of the relationship. In other that we may be forgiven, God bears the brunt of our sins and offers us his forgiveness. He did everything! He didn’t wait for us to ask for it before he went ahead to forgive. He thought we were worth dying for and he laid down his life for us. Hallelujah!

The first Scripture on this blog depicts God’s action as the greatest form of love that leaves us with nothing more demanding to do but rather to say yes every day to his love. If you have been searching for love, it’s right here in the father’s action that in all his reaching out he comes down to meet you where you are at. Thank God for this amazing love💕.

One of the reasons many of us believers haven’t been able to live the Christ kind of life we have been called to is that everyone always wants to claim a right. This is quite valid, but when we consider the ultimate end of our actions ” Do they draw men to Christ or take them further away from him ” then it would help us know when to descend from our high horses.

“What would Jesus do”, then goes from being a question to action. If Jesus would leave his glory and splendor, coming to the earth to redeem man from his dead ways then we who have seen this light should be able to love men as well. We definitely can’t die for them but we can forgive them, love them, make sacrifices, go an extra mile and more importantly, preach the good news to the end that all may know A LOVE SO GREAT.

Never forget that Jesus has paid your way through life. You are God Worthy! Live conscious of his love for you.

Your friend, Sandra💕
