” Then Jesus turned to the Jews who had claimed to believe in him. “If you stick with this, living out what I tell you, you are my disciples for sure. Then you will experience for yourselves the truth, and the truth will free you.”

It feels really pleasant to be writing to you again, welcome to today’s blog post!
If you had ever believed a lie about something, I guess finding out the truth after that deception felt like real liberation, didn’t it? It’s the same feeling for all of us, that’s what truth does, it sets you free! It may be a huge discovery or some would say bitter, but the truth certainly comes with freedom!
In today’s blog, I speak about deception, it’s something a lot of people put up or face, and knowing the truth about it is a start to freedom.
Grab a snack, and a cup of water, and get ready for some light!✨
Deception is an instance of actions and/or schemes fabricated to mislead someone into believing a lie or inaccuracy. When the enemy paints a lie to keep you from the truth, that’s deception.
We know how infamous the enemy is for wanting us to experience everything but that which God wants for us, and one of the ways he does it is through deception. Deception is only one of the ways because, in these times, the enemy doesn’t only deceive people to get them to buy into a lie. Now, some of his tactics are out there. Fully playing out and telling you ” choose hot, trendy, and juicy or choose life. ” We must know and settle it in our hearts that life and truth pay eventually!
I remember when my sisters and I were growing up. Somedays we’d convince our smaller sibling that our mum or dad was back home and that we had seen them. Then, when that sibling happily wants to take off to see mum or dad and we’d cling tightly to him, saying ‘No, it’s only us that will see mum or dad today.’ The sibling would struggle till they break free only to find out that no one was home, it was only a deception.
P.S.: Maybe, unlike me, you never had to trick your siblings 💀, but we give thanks for the blood of Jesus!
We all know that the enemy is the deceiver, but the newsflash is Jesus also told some people that they were like their father the devil, full of lies. That means Satan can pull his tricks through those who don’t walk in the spirit, so you must take heed as you live. Don’t be a deceiver!
As a Christian, don’t be living the right way, trusting God, banking on him for life, and then making people think that you’re some wicked, violent person who doesn’t care about if anyone gets hurt. Whereas all your life is truly one that banks on God. We are not a breed of selfish people as believers, we are a light, an example and a people called to bear fruits. If you have been chasing people away by your character or your speech, it’s time to stop living a lie. You’re light, you are full of love, go out there and show the world God in you!
I know that sometimes it may seem easy to live a lie. You probably don’t want people to have too high expectations of you, or call you out for your faith at your slightest faults. However, there’s more you have to win than lose when you get ‘loud’ about your faith. There’s more to learn and a wide circle of people out there that only you can influence for God. Don’t live under the deception that your Christianity is for you and God alone. Yes, Jesus calls you to fellowship but there’s also service involved when you answer the call. As you receive, you give!
Another category that is even more deceptive, is if you put on a face of godliness because you want to feel among when you don’t even know the Lord. It’s about time to draw near to God and do something worthwhile. Don’t win others while you’re cast away.
When we do the works of God and even tell people about him, it may draw them near to him. However, if our hearts and motives aren’t right with God, we are well on the way to being cast away.
Remember after David had slept with Uriah’s wife and gotten her pregnant? He so desperately tried to fix things up and when his trick to get Uriah to go back home didn’t work out, he killed him. In all of this, he still felt he was living right. Things worked out for him, but the lie, the sin, and everything he had done almost messed up his right standing with God. Thank God he got back on track!
What’s the state of your heart as you serve God?
God’s honor and reward only come when your heart and your motives for service are right before him.
Jesus called you first to be with him and then to work for him. He wants to get personal with you, having it any other way is deception. Keep in mind what Apostle Paul says ;
but I train like a champion athlete. I subdue my body and get it under my control, so that after preaching the good news to others I myself won’t be disqualified.
