Walk by Faith, not Sight.

Hello, How are you doing?

Welcome to today’s blog💃. How has the month of June been for you? For me it’s been amazing, I got into God’s word a lot this month and also had His word show up for me many times. I plan to do more with God’s word for my life and godliness next month and I hope you take up the challenge to do likewise too💪🏽.

Today I will be sharing an experience of mine that changed a lot of things for me, and you should enjoy this a lot. Let’s get right in!

I don’t fancy walking under the sun at all. Asides from the heat, it has me squinting and the look in my eyes and on my face sometimes make it look like “I have been up all night or been through a lot😂”.

Many times when my eyes has this look, I have people say ‘hello’ to me and then end with ” you should sleep more often or try to rest”. Many times I reply with ” Yeah, sure thanks.” The truth is 70% of the time when people would tell me sleep more often and all, I was actually very full of strength and not in anyway stressed out. I only gave that response cos I wasn’t up for explaining that my eyes can be deceptive sometimes and I am actually not tired, I just need to drink water and get some air.

One day I met someone I knew and this time she was the one with that tired look. She looked all stressed out and in need of some air, and in some minutes I was on the other side of the chart, saying “You look tired, you should slow down and get some rest.” Her response that day really did something to me, she said;

Sandra, no, I’m not tired. I may look tired but I actually have not done a lot today and I plan to have a great day ahead. ‘ That short comment was a very redefining moment for me. It gave me a new approach for everytime people would say ‘ You look like you haven’t slept in days ‘, ‘ Are you fine ‘, ‘ Did you just come out from crying in secret ‘ , etc. On days where I was tired I always agreed but on other days, when I would have still agreed with a smile, I made sure to interject shapely and say that I was full of strength and I planned to have a great day.

The same applies for us in many ways. How many of us get stuck in believing things about ourselves because many people see us and think that of us. Forgetting that much more than meets the eyes, we are who God has called us to be and that should define our reality.

How do you look on the outside? Weak, Frail, or like the scriptures said about Leah ‘ she had weak eyes ‘. Well your ability and physical appearance doesn’t limit the size of God in you. He’s still as big and mighty, not limited by time, space or place. With Leah’s weak eyes, she alone birthed half the tribes of Israel and a very beautiful daughter! One would have thought she’d limit herself to being a wall post in Jacob’s house but she certainly didn’t. She walked by faith in her home even when she wasn’t as pleasing in Jacob’s sight.

Remember the story of David, Goliath was so furious with him that he even dared to come before him, because physically he wasn’t a match for him. David on the other hand didn’t go there in his own might, he went by faith. The faith of God, and he prevailed mightily.

I have learnt and I am still learning that nothing is permitted to be louder than God’s words over your life, not even your thoughts. If you’re not so sure about who you are, then get into God’s word and confess what the word says about you.

You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. You have all sufficiency in all things in Christ Jesus. Your mind is the mind of Christ. Sickness cannot dwell in your body. You are healed and you give out healing. You are a city set upon a hill and you stand out for God always.

Keep speaking, and living by faith. The words of faith in your mouth and your heart will always be louder than doubts in your head. You are bigger than meets the eyes.

I will end with this, the only power the enemy can have over you is suggestions. He can’t rule your life but he can suggest bad things to rule your life. Your place is not to believe him, but rather to speak that which you know to be true based on God’s word. Keep saying who you are in Christ and always have something to believe God for and exercise your faith on. Faith grows and the more you exercise it the easier it is to get conscious about what God has said about you and done for you despite the enemy’s lies. Stay in faith, stay in God’s word and keep speaking that which you already are and which you’re becoming.

The just shall live by faith and since living is everyday, so also must your faith walk be, and you can get started on your faith walk right now!

I love you and I pray you have a super amazing July. Xoxo❤️❤️

God got you! Trust Him❤️
We have confidence in God’s ability, not ours✨

  4. Wow, what a great and powerful write up!
One of the greatest weapon of the devil is, making man accept definition about himself from a man like himself. Should the created be defined by another creation? Certainly not! But this is what the devil has successfully achieved with mankind, especially those who don’t know their place and right in Christ.
Only God should give description of who we are. If an item receives its description/definition from its maker/manufacturer, should ours be different?
As for me, and I also want to admonish as many as will come across this beautiful write up by our dear sister, let’s walk by what God says we are and speak of it daily. Reject devil’s suggestions in your heart and confess God’s plans for yourself.
2Cor.4.13 – And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak

  5. Hmmmn this is profound! It is not what one looks like but what God says. People going around saying what they see but we should let them know want God says about us and that situation. God’s voice should be louder above all else.

Thank you so much for this Sandra. God bless you and increase you in wisdom, knowledge and understanding of His word!❤

  6. Faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God. It is important to stay in faith by studying the word. We can’t exercise faith and believe in God’s promises if we do not know these promises.
“Stay in faith, stay in God’s word and keep speaking that which you already are…” For me, this article is timely. Thank you so much for this.🤗
