Hello!
I’m glad that even before you began reading today’s blog post, you already got the idea😌. You took a minute out of your time, you clicked on my link and now you’re ready for what I have for you today. Wait! We are getting right into it!
Life can be a boring chore somedays. It’s like if you want to get any good out of it, you have to stick with the Merry go round of tirelessly working, showing up everyday and time and putting up a front like you are interested in what you are doing today as much as you were when you first began.
This whole process has great chances of wearing one out even way more than doing the actual work itself. Maybe some of us hit the boredom button more quickly than others but what stands true is that everyday the things we do, even when we love them don’t always ignite the same fire in us.
I have been through this stage a couple of times myself. It feels like “God I have so much work to do (or could be just one task) … or God I don’t want to work”.
There was this one time that I was really weary, and I felt so choked that I just wanted a vacation. This time I actually didn’t mean a vacation to just some place but an actual vacation home with God. Oh! How much I wished I would go into a trance for four days but thankfully that never happened 😂.
In the middle of my “no vibe state”, I met a friend one day and he asked how I was doing and somehow my default response didn’t come to the rescue. I looked at him and said “I’m tired, I want to go home” and in a couple of seconds I was crying. Now that I think about it, it was funny cos, why was I crying 😂? But it’s beautiful how God had it all planned out and had me in the right place to get help.
My friend made me see two places in the Bible and that day, in the few years that have gone by, and even now those scripture still have their antidote effects and come alive and true to me always. We saw Matthew 11:28-30 and the Isaiah 40: 27-31✨ Gosh! those scriptures in The Message translation, everythinggg literally brings relief from the point of reading it.
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
Matthew 11:28-30 MSG
Why would you ever complain, O Jacob, or, whine, Israel, saying, “God has lost track of me. He doesn’t care what happens to me”? Don’t you know anything? Haven’t you been listening? God doesn’t come and go. God lasts. He’s Creator of all you can see or imagine. He doesn’t get tired out, doesn’t pause to catch his breath. And he knows everything, inside and out. He energizes those who get tired, gives fresh strength to dropouts. For even young people tire and drop out, young folk in their prime stumble and fall. But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, They run and don’t get tired, they walk and don’t lag behind.
Isaiah 40:27-31 MSG
From these scriptures two things became clear; First is that life will always get busy and full of activities; and the Second is that you don’t match up with the task in life by running in your own strength you have to wait on God and get strength from Him to outlast the busyness of life.
While in the common sense of things, it looks like you always need to do some activity to get something. In God’s way, activity doesn’t guarantee productivity, clarity does and clarity comes in the waiting.
As a person and not just any person, as God’s child, you have to learn the unforced rhythms of grace and these rhythms are found in the place of being with God. It’s amazing how that God understands that fainting and being vibeless is part of the weakness of the flesh. Even the youths faint! But God calls us to stay with Him, and get empowered by something and someone greater than us. In the waiting is the mounting up of strength.
I want you to know that it’s okay that sometimes you get tired. But what will be even more amazing is knowing the way to get fresh strength for your life and purpose. Fresh strength comes in the waiting. Take that break, retreat, and keep your gaze on the one you live for and trust Him to enable you.
It’s never a waste of time to wait on God cos therein is strength. Also, when you wait be sure that you are being productive. By this, I mean don’t just lock yourself up and block out people to stare at the ceiling all day. Engage God, engage His word, speak to Him because He hears you and trust that He will minister just what you need to your heart.
It’s amazing how much progress we make when we wait. Like I said before Clarity beats activity in many ways and I hope that you give yourself a time out and wait on God more often. Not just in the moments you break down but even in the midst of the busyness of life, be intentional about haying time to wait on God.
I’ll end with two benefits waiting is sure to give you.
First! You’ll get reminded of the ‘why you do what you do and for whom you do it’. Sometimes, the only reason we are weary is because we lose the first love fire that made us start. Waiting reignites this fire and helps remind you of the big picture that got you started.
Second! You’ll get to know what God is saying and leading you to do for the now. The fact that you got started with something doesn’t make it a forever thing and this is why waiting on God is important. Imagine if Abraham didn’t stop to hear God after he already laid Isaac down, he’d have gone all out for an instruction that was already stale. Don’t be rigid with being led by God’s spirit. Stay sensitive and learn to still your mind in the place of waiting.
Remember that waiting is not a one off thing, always make out time to wait and receive fresh strength.
Never forget that God is for you and there are cloud of witnesses rooting for you.
I love you❤️🤗
