Dear faith friend, welcome to today’s blog.
For a over a day, here in the country where I stay, Nigeria, there’s been grieving for almost every person. I thought for a moment how that the grieving didn’t just start today or this year, there have been many reasons to grieve but the only thing that’s been easy to resonate with is that everyone is gradually participating in their share of grief. It has made me realize that it’s easy to talk about a reality, and argue about it, but “reality only truly dawns on you until it’s closer to you”.
Now, if you’re a believer in Christ Jesus, today’s blog is for you. If you’re a person searching for answers, today’s blog is for you. If you’re grieving and wondering at what point God steps in to save the world today’s blog is also for you. Then, if you perhaps just found yourself reading this, today’s blog is very much for you.
On Monday morning, I was grieving over the killing of Christians in Owo, Ondo state that happened on Sunday, 5th June. In the middle of it, I thought back to the time I was in church on Sunday too.
Now, at my church every first Sunday in a month is dedicated to Thanksgiving, and there was just something about last Sunday. I was very happy, I was full of the joy of the Lord, that’s the word. I’m not a natural dancer but I danced a lot during the service, I literally rejoiced in the hope of the glory of God. There were also a great number of testimonies that blessed me and I recognized God’s goodness.
In the middle of grieving and thinking, I thought about if it had been my church attacked, and I hadn’t picked up a message to leave the church, I didn’t have some ‘mortal combat’ escape plan and I just stared death in the eyes, would it have meant my dancing and rejoicing weren’t necessary and all the joy and goodness of God were nothingness? My resolve was a ‘No’. Not because, I or anyone deserves to be massacred, not because everyone dies eventually, but a ‘No’ because I had placed faith in someone (God) that is true and with Him experiencing life on this side or on the other side of eternity doesn’t change His character. No, because the hopelessness of a fallen world doesn’t stand unknown to God and he made provision for a life full of hope and a constant faith when we receive the work of Grace that the sacrifice of Christ offers us.
Simply, the Bible says that “the heart of man is evil and desperately wicked”. Nothing surprises me when men turn out as men. Yes it grieves me, breaks me, angers me and has me crying to God for comfort and help but it far from surprises me. If God didn’t know the extent of evil a man without His fear and life was capable of, Christ’s death would have been needless. But the punishments Christ faced and His sacrifice, depicted what the bunch of us were ‘ all humans with a little of us, only more humane ‘.
After seeing many comments, solutions, and outrage on social media. I was raged too. I thought a lot about what God knew, foresaw and how grieved He was over man’s nature that He knew He had to make provision to help us from ourselves and our mess because none of us could ever do it. I think the bunch of us may want to vouch for our goodness sometimes, but it will also be impossible to say that you haven’t been in a situation that revealed some side of you that scared you to the guts. These just makes you see the desperacy people truly can have and why God so had to step in through Christ Jesus, making Him live righteous and die for the ungodly that the ungodly may become godly through Him.
More than ever, I am glad Jesus came as a man with no affluence and stood before men who reveled in His death, completely unaware that He was doing something for them. It has made me see why the most important thing for a Nation, people or person is salvation. Jesus came to do good, He came to preach the gospel to the poor because nothing whatsoever can truly satisfy, transform and save a man.
Our Faith talk today, is boldly that we have received the salvation in Christ Jesus, and have become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!
Now, where does hope come in here?
I must admit that despite having become such an awesome saved and sealed, fire branded believer, the enemy likes to, permit me to say ‘ move mad ‘. He stirs up men and women who are without the fear of God to do evil that is very unthinkable and unbearable.
We see the slaughter of innocent victims, we see corruption from people with no remorse whatsoever and now more than ever we see the killing of very innocent victims. Believers and unbelievers alike! God! It sometimes feels like people can’t serve their Lord and saviour and in peace and those who haven’t met Him yet aren’t given a chance to meet Him. Very tragic, I know.
However, pause for a second. Jesus said it already;
And everything I’ve taught you is so that the peace which is in me will be in you and will give you great confidence as you rest in me. For in this unbelieving world you will experience trouble and sorrows, but you must be courageous, for I have conquered the world!”

Darling, you’ve not lost in anyway if you have placed faith in Christ Jesus. You have Him and it may sound strange, but life on either sides of eternity can and should feel the same way for you. It should be full of peace because the enemy has been conquered. He has no power to destroy or condemn you! And even when one of us is lost, it only truly is gain.
So, while we carry the placards, stand against injustice, pray for God’s will to be established, preach the good news to the ungodly, we do everything conscious and aware that we only ever win because our saviour has overcome. He reigns forever and we reign with Him, in life on earth and in eternity. There’s no hopelessness for those who have become the righteousness of God in Christ. Hallelujah!
Furthermore, there’s one thing and assignment Jesus gave us who have received salvation. He said to ‘ Go into the world and make disciples of all men! ‘ We are called to call other men to salvation.
You may not see it this way, but everyone, ( those humans we tag ‘animals’ inclusive ) deserves the gospel and has been covered for by Christ’s sacrifice. Apostle Paul was previously as much a murderer as anyone responsible for the death of innocent people today. See what Jesus did to Him, he made him a new man. Boldly declaring the gospel even from his cell. If we’ll be sending criminals to jail, we’ll do well to also give them the gospel and see what mighty Paul’s we will be birthing.
Preach the gospel as much and as far as you can. Be given to praying for the salvation of all men. Be given to praying and making declarations about what you want your nation to be. Be given to building diligence in the things of God.
Remember, your assignment is to the world. Every nation, and every tribe inclusive. Don’t stop praying, don’t stop speaking and in all keep hope and faith alive. Jesus loves you and it’s unflinching. Great grace!
The month of June is also fairly new. I pray it’s a month of peace and happiness moving forward. God bless you.❤️

I want in life
Is to be known
For loving Christ
To build his church
To love his bride
And make His name
Known far and wide
For this cause I live
For this cause I’d die
I surrender all
For the cause of Christ… ~Lyrics gotten from “The Cause of Christ” by Kari Jobe.

I remembered something a man of God once said, “when things are not right, it is the duty of believers to set It right through prayers. Believers don’t sit when terrible things happen, they fight via prayers.”
Well written, sis. ❤
