Just today I was listening to the song ” I am Loved “, and the song has so much truth in it about the extent of God’s love for us. One thing that stands out for me the most in the song, is the part that says ” … all that I have and all that I am is beautifully made by your(God’s) hands”.

You know, regardless of how much we try to wrap our head around genetics, and self care tips and any form of self improvement mechanism it’s an irrebuttable fact that all that we have, that is, physical and mental abilities are given to us by God.

It’s however very possible to see a whole bunch of us who have lost sight of this consciousness. We think our extra prettiness, smartness, good health, wealth or something, were gotten because we are extra deserving of it. Now, get me right it is very important that you care for and improve on your natural and mental abilities or attributes. This post is however a reminder that all you have is a gift from God, and you must esteem it as such.

Let’s see something scripture says in the first chapter of John vs 12-13.

But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.
John 1:12‭-‬13 NLT

Whoosh! These verses are loaded and coupled with the song I am Loved, just brings to mind the fact that all that I am as a believer, is no longer due to the fact that my parents birthed me, but is all a part of God’s plan. He delighted in making me so much that He sent Christ, His only begotten son to save me that I too may become His child.

So, the next time you feel like “why am I here?” I want you to do two things;

1) Ask yourself if you’re born of God and answer this question sincerely? If yes you’re ready for number two. If No, it’s time to believe that what Jesus’ sacrifice offers has you as part of the plan too and there is no plan B.

2) Since you are born of God, know that He made you for his will and his purposes. So, whether it feels like you got good genes or not, you now have God genes. His very life and being inside of you and you are to live entirely for the one who has called and made you.

God had you in mind and has all it takes to look after you. You are born of God’s will, nothing less! Esteem yourself as such.
