Our past may explain why we’re suffering but we must not use it as an excuse to stay in bondage.
~Joyce Meyer.
Today’s writing is about my favorite Heroine of Love. She’s someone who has allowed God make a message out of her mess. How much I love Mama Joyce Meyer has helped me realize that really, there’s gotta be so much room in our hearts as God’s children to love people.🤭
Joyce’s story may not be the first of its kind, but it’s the perfect example of what can happen when we let God take our weakness and fill it with His strength.
As a child, Joyce Meyer grew up in a home where she was sexually abused by her father. Her father back then had been mean, abusive and manipulative.
The sexual abuse started when she was very young, and when he decided she was mature enough, he took things even further. From this point until Joyce was eighteen, he raped her at least once a week. Her father, whom she was supposed to be able to trust and who was supposed to keep her safe, was the person she came to fear the most.
Joyce lived her teenage years which were supposed to be the best of her youth in abuse, fear and uncertainties. She knew what was going on was wrong but no one was there to speak up against it for her. The abuse made her seclude herself from friends, high school games and dates. She always had an excuse to get away from everything.
The story of how God took Joyce from one who was most broken to the Healthy Hearted woman we have today is indeed a miracle.
This miracle however didn’t take place at the wave of a wand. Joyce lived her early years without Christ, full of bitterness and hate for both her parents. But something bigger than herself changed her. The Power of God’s Love and Forgiveness.
When we listen to Joyce Meyer share her story we see that she didn’t learn to love in a day, but as she received God’s love and as He blessed, healed and comforted her, she learnt to live in God’s love and not in the hurts.
Joyce knew she had been a mess but God picked her up and made her whole. Today Joyce’s life is a message to people around the world, Women especially. She’s a message of how we don’t have to live in the hate or in the hurt when there’s something better in Christ for us. Joyce Meyer made love her choice and now she’s living whole and complete in God. ✨
Have you been hurt? Abused? Been an innocent victim? The Bible says;
For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.
Hebrews 4:15 NKJV
If there’s anyone who understands what pain feels like it’s definitely Christ, and the one who sees and bore your pains, also has healing in His wings. We can let him turn our stories into glories when we submit to Him.
Let’s pray;
Dear Lord, I thank you for your son sent to save me and make me whole. Today I want to experience healing on everyside. I let go of the pain of the past hurts and accept your healing by faith. Change me, help me to forgive and make me whole. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
Hallelujah! We have been made free to live freely. Glory to God.
Never forget you’re loved❤️🤗.
