It’s a beautiful Monday morning here and today I’ll be sharing something really nice I learnt over the weekend. I had known this before, but sometimes a thing you’ve known all your life happens to dawn on you again and just leaves you saying ‘Wow’.

Last Friday, I had the opportunity to share God’s word to some children at a secondary school. Right after I was done, I asked questions to ensure they followed the lesson. I taught them on Love God’s way. After the teaching a young boy stood to respond to my question and he said “The profit of love is never our focus in giving it.” His statement wowed me.

Now, while I taught them I had mentioned something like how love isn’t self seeking and how God gave His son freely without demanding anything in return from us. But hearing it from the young child made it stick with me much more and just yesterday night I was thinking about it. Really, love does take from you and can be quite an investment. But when you attempt to quantify the results of your love, it is priceless.

How much will you say that being a loving parent who gives the right discipline and so much love is worth compared to having a stable child whose countenance is always joyful and never lives in fear? That result in the child’s life is priceless compared to the investment.

When God chose to first invest in His love for us, He didn’t see all it would cost Him but rather the greater good and greater gain and He went for it. Now, see how many of us can be called sons of God✨. That’s some priceless return on investment.
Same with any form of relationship. Marriage especially, when the responsible guy decides that this is the lady he wants to choose for himself he would be giving a lot. Time, attention, resources, a lot to get her and show that he loves her. But afterwards when his love wins her, the cost cannot be compared to what there is to gain. There’s true love, companionship, family, a everyday cheerleader, kids and a life of joy and comfort. This is truly priceless.

Most times when we choose to love the most undeserving people the God way, we’ll spend a lot. But what joy it is to see a sinner come to Christ, a lost man found, healed and made whole. It cannot be quantified by money or gold. Investing in love can be quite expensive that’s why we ought not to count the cost sometimes. Why? Cos the results of love will eventually be priceless.

So dear believer, the sacrifice of love never supercedes the priceless gain that lies ahead. Be love and give love just like your heavenly Father.
