Hello ❤️
Today, we begin with the stories of people I love to tag ‘Heroes of Love’. Life doesn’t always start for everyone on the best of sides, but what’s true is that however our stories may be, once God steps in He can turn it all to Glory.😊
Sarah’s story is one of such. A beautiful testimony of how pain, shame and flaws were refined by God, her heart was healed and now she’s out making sure people see the truth of God’s love and can live life full of God’s spirit and joy.
Sarah Jakes Robert, the second daughter and fourth born of Bishop T.D. Jakes is an American author, motivational speaker, wife and mother of four children. She has a knack for encouraging women to go through tough times in their lives while strengthening their relationship with God. This purpose was birthed in her through all the challenges of life God helped her to surmount.
Being the daughter of Bishop T.D. Jakes, who was one of the most influential megachurch pastors in Dallas, she struggled with the pressure of keeping up a perfect front and living up to the standard of being the perfect Pastor’s daughter. Although she was born into a Christian family and she was raised in church, she felt distant from the core of the gospel and the essence of Christianity. Farther and farther, she grew distant and it seemed her world came crashing down when she became pregnant at the age of 13.
As a teen mom and a high-profile preacher’s kid, her road was lonely. She was shunned at school, gossiped about at church. Even though her family supported her as the judgment poured in, the shame that loomed was not easy to shake.
She had her first encounter with God as a child carrying a child and pleading for grace. It was in this moment of pain she ran into Christ’s outstretched arms and decided to totally surrender her life to Him. In her words, “I gave Him my pain. I gave Him my shame and He gave me the grace to heal”. Looking back now, she is convinced that her pregnancy was the way God slowed her down to show her who she really was.
She thrived tirelessly to clear high school early while raising her son. She graduated high school in the top ten percent of her class and attended Texas Christian University at the age of 16.
Her first marriage to Robert Henson was another traumatizing experience for her as it was a marriage marked by infidelity and lies. She tried to escape the pain of her marriage by blogging in order to reach out to other women who were in her shoes. She found encouragement from their stories and made up her mind to divorce her first husband.
She could have let her pain dictate her future but rather she used it as a tool that helped her to evolve. She turned her pain into purpose by leading a ministry and creating her own entrepreneurial lane with a podcast, fashion line, and Woman Evolve, a national conference and movement aimed at helping women be the best they can be. She is happily married to Toure Roberts and she co-pastors One Church L.A. with him.
Sarah’s life is a living testimony and a vivid reminder that God can turn even the deepest pain into His perfection. In her brokenness, she embraced His love and He brought out beauty from her ashes. Perhaps, like Sarah, you may be wandering through the detours of life. Regardless of how you feel, God’s love is constant. Don’t turn away from your brokenness. Remember that you are not alone. God is with you and He is more than able to help you overcome just as He did for Sarah.
Hallelujah ✨

Wow. How beautiful it is when God works our life’s pains into victories! All these can only take place in a life laid down and surrendered to him. If He did it for Sarah, He can do it for you too❤️
There’s more miracles God has worked in people’s lives and tommorow we’ll look at another. Don’t miss it!
